ABOUT ASOCIAL MEDIA FILM COMPANY
In the early 1960s former Alcatraz inmate Charlie Hopkins was walking the yard at Springfield Penitentiary with the "Birdman" Robert Stroud and "The Atomic Spy" Morton Sobell.  "Hoppy" had been given a copy of his prison file which stated among other things that he was "Asocial". Since Charlie didn't know what Asocial meant, he decided to ask Sobell, whom he called "the Professor".Â
"Well Hoppy," Sobell said, "Asocial doesn't necessarily mean that your against people, but it doesn't mean you are for them either, it kind of means that you don't really care what people think one way or the other and that you mind your own business."Â
When Charlie Hopkins told me that story, I thought that it sounded like a pretty good name for the film production company that would capture his life story, so Asocial Media was born. Â
