Ronnie Ashmore is a can't miss western writer...

There is a new breed of outlaw in the1870's West and Tom Bowdry figures he is king of the hill. He and his gang are utterly without morals. Sam Bolton is an ex-Texas Ranger. He has brought a lot of criminals to justice in his time. For some that meant 6 feet under. He was nick named Lightening Bolt and that seemed to stick. Now he has a ranch, with ranch hands that are loyal, and a beautiful young wife. He wasn't interested in going after Bowdry until he found out that Bowdry was after him. Big mistake on Bowdry's part.

Sam Bolton: Duty Bound

BOOK ONE: DUTY BOUND

A Western Adventure by Ronnie Ashmore.  In the vast expanse of the untamed West, Sam Bolton, a once revered Texas Ranger, was basking in the glory of a life well-lived. His days were now woven with the threads of triumph.  He had a flourishing ranch, a radiant wife, and a heart brimming with contentment. Yet, as the winds of fate began to howl through the canyons, news reached Sam's ears, shattering the tranquility that had briefly graced his existence. A name, whispered in hushed tones, carried on the whispers of the wind began to draw nearer.  This was a name that Bolton knew, and it was a name that struck fear into the hearts of even the most hardened souls.  It was the name of an outlaw, one whose very presence eclipsed the legend that Sam had heard in smoky saloons and around crackling campfires.  It was the name of an outlaw that Sam Bolton had to face.

Recommended Western.

An action packed western that reads a lot like a Lone Ranger storyline... The Texan relentlessly pursues the bad guys until justice is served!

I was looking for a change of pace from so many murder mysteries and this one was great. I finished it in two days and thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Howard Hopkins' is the author of numerous western books.  Originally published by Robert Hale Limited in the UK, Howard has written professionally for many years under the pen name Lance Howard.  He is the author of 32 Black Horse Westerns in hardcover and trade paperback, the most recent being COYOTE DEADLY and DEAD MAN RIDING.

Howard says "I love entertaining people and taking them away from reality and giving something back to others. I started writing because Doc Savage, and other pulp heroes helped me through a difficult period in my life and awakened a creative spark that turned into a roaring fire. Writing is my passion and being able to touch others' lives through words drives me to tell stories."  Sadly, Howard passed away too soon in 2012 at the age of 50 but his legacy lives on through his work.
